On May 21, 2021, Mayor Bowser awarded the District of Columbia’s Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency (HSEMA) the Excellence in Leadership award for its vigilant response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As an HSEMA contractor tasked with supporting the Agency in its implementation of the District’s Preparedness Strategy, through plan development, governance support, resource estimation, and program evaluation, VPC was celebrated for its vital contribution during this crisis. VPC’s development of the COVID-19 Rolling Summary Report provided an iterative understanding of lessons learned throughout the ongoing COVID-19 response effort and offered key recommendations for operational improvement.
